| PA/NY Transporation Company (Penn Central) 100 Share Stock Certificate. This historically significant certificate was issued when what later became the Penn Central Company was first formed. Blue on white with black vignette. Standard size. Reads: Pennsylvania New York Central Transportation Company across top. Great vignette features Mercury (with winged helmet) running in front of a cityscape that includes a skyline, cab unit diesel pulled passenger train, river with ship, airplane, trailer truck and a pipeline. Has serial number and 100 shares in keystones to left and right of vignette. Also has PC worm logo repeated around border and PC corporate seal at bottom center. Has been issued and cancelled. When the name changed occured the certificate was neatly rubber stamped in red "The name of this corporation has been changed to PENN CENTRAL COMPANY." A hard-to-find certificate in outstanding condition. Dated September 11, 1968. |
