Circa: Unknown Condition: Used Country of Origin: United Kingdom Manufacturer: Ridgways
Ridgways creamer with floral almost chintz like design and green stripe around top and bottom, and outlining the handle. Approx 3 inches tall at its tallest point. I believe this is the English Garden pattern but I am not certain. Marked with a crowned circle "Ridgways Shelton England" and inside that mark "England Est'd 1792". No chips or cracks, but crazing throughout piece, and slight wear to the bottom, as well as a very round glaze skip near the words "Est'd 1792" - very hard to see unless you turn it just right in the light (but it can be felt). What's really curious is that small dark spot near the spout which you can see as a small speck in the first picture. and a closer view in the second picture. I looked at it under a very strong magnifying glass, and it appears to be the initials WTL in the teeniest of letters! Very strange! |
