Ships of the Seven Seas, a series of etchings illustrating a variety of ships. This is a set of four, printed in black ink on an offwhite heavy stock. They were first published as a supplement to the January 1938 National Geographic and also offered in this size (11 x 14 inches). Very suitable for framing. Each has the copyright mark with National Geographic Society under the image on the left and Norman Wilkinson on the right. The title is below the image. The four prints include "Venetian Galley: Trader and Crusader", Drake's Golden Hind: Pioneer of British Sea Power, "The Ark Royal: Spanish Armada Defeated" and finally "Santa Maria: The great Admiral's Flagship of Discovery". This particular print has a fold in the lower right corner, but should not show when framed. Click to zoom for more detail.
