Allertons England Sunderland Pink Lustre Luster plate approx. 7 inches across. Marked with a crown and Allertons England. An image is included of the back, but the stamp is very faint and I could read it only with a magnifying glass.
This piece is much more pink than what shows in the picture but does have a slight blue cast in the center. Crazing consistent with age. If you click on the zoom for the first picture, you will see a spot where the glaze appears to have pooled when it was fired. The rim / edge is either copper or gold. Has a spot on the underneath of the plate on the copper rim that looks like a manufacturer's flaw because it is coppered over, and is about the size of a pencil point or smaller. I mention these flaws only so that the buyer is not disappointed. I believe this is from about 1903-1912, so keep in mind that this is a very old piece. |
